Easy swap alert! When you are traveling, sometimes it feels like environmental considerations are out of your control. You are at the mercy of restaurants if you want to eat and if you are in a hurry or on a budget you are often grabbing quick options on the go. With one simple change you can be prepared and reduce your plastic use.

Today’s Challenge: Stash eating utensils in your purse, computer bag, backpack, diaper bag or lunchbox (or all of them). Make sure you always have them with you. You can buy a whole set of lightweight bamboo utensils or try out this multi-use spork. However, you don’t actually have to buy anything. It is as simple as borrowing a fork from your kitchen drawer. The catch is, you need to make sure to clean and replace the utensils after use. You could also consider keeping a set at work. Oh, and don’t forget to tell restaurant employees that you don’t need any utensils, or you will find that they sneak into the bag with your food.
