Now that you have established how much you are going to cook at home, you need to plan it out so that you don’t fall back to eating out. Let’s break it down and make it easy!
Today’s challenge:
- Set a time every week that you will plan out what is for supper. Put the time on your calendar. If you skip this, it won’t get done.
- Start by jotting down your plan right now for this week. It doesn’t have to be fancy. If you are new to this, make it as easy as possible.
- Pick out 7 meals that can be made in 30 minutes or less. Write down the names. You now have 1 week of meals that you can repeat every month (or every week if you don’t mind a little repetition). You could also repeat a certain meal on certain days of the week. Every Saturday is homemade pizza night in my house. I don’t even have to think about it. You could do meatless Monday, taco Tuesday, soup every Wednesday, etc. If you are looking for recipe ideas or if you want me to do the meal planning for you, I have a lot of seasonal meal plans archived on my Green Life Philosophy blog and you can look at the categories to find recipes. I also send out a new plan every week that is a replica of what I am cooking so be sure to look subscribe to receive emails.
- Write your plan on the calendar so everyone in the family will know what is for dinner.
- If you already have mastered supper, then work on planning breakfast, lunch, and snacks too.
Keep it simple. If you don’t, I promise you will be back to eating out in no time!
